Abstract
This study aims to explore the research status of Chinese golf turf using bibliometric methods. The China National Knowledge database (CNKI) and the Web of Science (WOS) serve as primary literature sources. Utilizing the bibliometric software CiteSpace, the analysis encompassed several aspects, including the number of published papers, research authors and institutions, keyword co-occurrence networks, and emerging trends in Chinese golf turf research. It was found that the number of published papers on Chinese golf turf research showed a fluctuating growth trend, with publications peaking between 2007-2013; the top three institutions in terms of published papers were Beijing Forestry University, Shenzhen University, and Chinese Academy of Sciences; the authors with the highest number of published papers were from Beijing Forestry University. The research fields primarily focused on golf turf management methods, strategies, green turf maintenance, pesticide residues, weed control, and related areas. When considering research hotspots, the emerging trends have shifted from golf turf nutrition science and golf turf establishment science to golf green turf maintenance and golf turf ecological protection. This research emphasizes turf management, maintenance, putting greens, and fertilization. Looking ahead, Chinese golf turf research should prioritize enhancing research content and research systems. It should also seek to achieve breakthroughs in localized research and promote cross-disciplinary applications.
