Abstract
The use of practical teaching sessions is a key component of lessons in the discipline of physical geography, cultivating both practical skills and scientific and technological knowledge in students with the aim of improving their learning experience. Taking the “Pratacultural Science” major of Lanzhou University as an example, in this study, we systematically evaluated the application of practical teaching in lessons on physical geography based on a selection of field stations, the design of the practical curriculum, and the exploration of new teaching modes. A summary and analysis of the effects of practical teaching in the discipline of “physical geography” are provided, as well as proposed improvement areas. Taken together, this study provides guidance for the dissemination and improvement of the practical teaching of physical geography at the undergraduate level in colleges and universities.
