A study on production performance of Huaxi rutabaga

A study on Huaxi rutabagas adaptability, biological characteristics and production performance in three places of Guizhou Province was conducted in contrast with Brassica napobrassica cv. Weining, from 2009 to 2012. Results showed that the life time of Huaxi rutabaga was about 245 days, fresh yield amounted to 101 340.00 kgha-1, dry matter yield amounted to 15 840.00 kgha-1, and seed yield amounted to 2 908.5 kgha-1. There was a significant production increasing effects. In conclusion, Huaxi rutabaga is an ideal forage resource, which can cross winter and spring with a short growth period and high yield.
